It’s finally happened, I actually took part in the Schwalbe British Cycling Four Cross national series. @british4xseries
After rebuilding my DMR Trailstar LT with some old and new bits, including wheels I built myself when I was 16 (24 years ago), I had to actually race it, not just ride it.
@matt_hillyard reached out to me very early in this channel’s life and has offered me lots of encouragement and advise throughout. That was it I was going to finally race a 4X event.
Not sure what category to ride, so I asked a few people and my choices were “big fun” (no race licence needed) or Masters 40-49 (license required) I opted for the latter and made this video. I hope you enjoy it and it makes you want to give it a try.
After racing and having a few days to reflect, I really do think this is the most fun you can have on a bike. Cover Photo is by the very talented BMXfulness.
