Continuing my unsupported cycle through Slovenia on Day 4, I encountered both the beauty and the challenges of its well-developed cycling network. A momentary lapse led to a frustrating backtrack for lost food supplies, costing valuable time and energy. However, the kindness of a local cyclist, offering support and a warning about the approaching cold, truly highlighted the spirit of the road. After navigating the winding paths, I reached the historic town of Ptuj for essential supplies before setting up camp by a picturesque lake. Slovenia’s dedication to cycling is evident, making for a memorable day despite the setbacks.
