If you’re looking for a short break from the capital and want to enjoy some fairly easy off road cycling just outside London, then this is a good trip to try. We met Saturday lunchtime at Reading Railway Station, which is easily accessible via the Elizabeth Line and several other train operators. We mostly followed a section of the King Alfred’s Way on Day 1 and stayed in the Premier Inn at Fleet on the Saturday night. On Day 2 we mostly followed the North Down’s Way from Fleet to Guildford. Finishing in Guildford on the Sunday meant there were plenty of trains home to London.
