The one day I decide to use the local dodgy roundabout (notorious for car crashes) to save me a few minutes… Take my lane and wait my turn… only to have a Merc to bump me off from behind.

Fortunately slow enough that I was pushed a little forward and to the ground and fortunately no other cars next to me as I went down straight into the lane next to us.

Taken car details and such, taken to an LBS and miraculously only the rear wheel and mudguard were damaged (frame is all good, thankfully I was bumped at a slow enough speed). New helmet time after doing it's job as I fell and then whacked my head (admittedly I also threw my helmet afterwards)

Take home from this:

1) wear your helmet (honestly would've been 10x worse as I fell and whacked my helmet)

2) sometimes it's better to take the slower route home… Some motorists aren't out to get us, they don't even notice us which somehow feels scarier
