How can we successfully advocate for cycling, and what does it take?
Better Streets and Bicycle NSW joined our members for an inspiring evening learning from Roxanne De Beaux, CEO of Camcycle, the cycling advocacy charity for Britain’s cycling capital, Cambridge.

In 2025 Camcycle celebrates 30 years of “wins” for people on bikes: from slowing road speeds to empowering advocates, from improving existing infrastructure to shaping future city plans.

The charity generates an impressive annual income of approximately AUD $400,000 a year and employs 8 staff. Perhaps most importantly, Camcycle helps hundreds of people to help shape the places and spaces where they live.

Are there lessons from Cambridge applicable to New South Wales? We found out in this enlightening evening in Sydney on Friday 4 April 2025.
