  1. Hey Oliver. My crank was making a squeaking noise that got worse. So I put a little oil inside or tried, with bike on floor on its side. Next day was terrible and bearings cracking and terribly embarrassingly noisy – so was looking into changing to a new one. 3 days later was not making much of a noise. Now today was super quiet. No cracking at all. What happened? And do I need a new bottom bracket. Thanks! #askgcntech

  2. If you want a second hand pro bike, visit the Canyon website (outlet page). They have a range of bikes you can buy and you can also see who rode them.

  3. I know this Tech was from a while ago. But just for info, many teams particularly a lot of the smaller outfits have held onto their 2020 team bikes. This is due to a shortage of new frames & equipment in the current Covid situation…..

  4. To reduce friction, the chain parts must be made to tighter tolerances and improved finishes. I wonder what the jump in cost would be

  5. Talked to a SRAM Technican recently, he said, that the chain would make the moste difference in shifting performance. He specificly recommendet replacing the chain to a better one, if you want better shifting performance.

  6. I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU GUYS ACTUALLY ENTERTAINED SOME NOOBS QUESTION ABOUT A KICKSTAND ! Tell him buy a madone and see if there is anywhere to mount one !

  7. YES, but from shimano to sram, and better yet CAMPY RECORD. 5.8 – 5.5 and 5.3mm delta so imagine the campy clearance advantage, shimano chains are garbage. The metallurgy on sram is superior, and Campy absolutely superior. i credit campy chains with a 0.75-1 km hr gain due to better stiffness, better engagement and 3300 kms to slight wear for replacement. but some shimano 105-DA chains lasted me 2 weeks, 700-800 kms? before clearly softening.l ditched them forever.. also also use a secret lubricant but either or, licensed riders are shocked when i catch up at 40 km hr with a quieter shiny chain..key shimano flaws include softer metal, WIDER due to poor metallurgy, too low modulus (noodle twists), side vibration and wind sensitivity..and tried 105-DA chains for years. 40,000 kms of campy and sram yes they are superior and faster.oh yea i also switched to sram hyperglide cassettes as shimanos are garbage (plastic core upper t), versus sram 1190 monoblock superior alloy…all and all i gained 1.5-2 km hr by switching chain cables and cassette. rest is shimano..

  8. NEVER buy a bike from a cycling proffessional ……you never know how much km it will have……..as a sport professional you must have killer-instinkt…..(all for me nothing for the others) and so they will sell their old material………;-))

  9. I really understand where he is coming from not wanting to lean his bike against walls. A lightweight kickstand isn't a terrible idea and 99% of them are easily removed when he decides he no longer wants it, if he does.

  10. The amount of things that add extra watts of power…i feel like i should be holding 50kmph on the flat with only 70 watts if i buy a new bike and top wheels.

  11. So much for advice, I have a kick stand on every bike I have. Simply because, I am not a pro ciclist and my bike was not designed to stand on its own.

  12. #askGCNTech Is it possible to replace an integrated stem with a more "traditional" stem? I am giving my Willer Cento10pro to my GF and it has an integrated stem/bar system that is obviously slammed. We would like to get her sitting up a bit higher and more comfortably and wondering if it can be done

  13. I bought Primoz Roglic’s bike from 2021 direct from Jumbo Visma bought on Catawiki auction site..hopefully he wins TDF & I make a few quid 😁🇬🇧

  14. Just bought a team ag2r Citroen BMC SLR full campagnola super record EPs ,best thing I've done all year,so cool still has riders name sticker on frame, love it.
