A few weeks back i posted that I had gotten a Rockshox Reverb that was stuck on the up position for $20 and was quickly yelled at by all for it. I’ve since listened a bit and found a MECHANICAL dropper post stuck in the up position for $10! everyone oooh’s and aaah’s.

Thinking maybe it was a seized cartridge and willing to spend $40 to replace it, I went on to dismantle it only to find the cartridge was still perfectly fine but the top tube was instead seized by what seemed to be a copper wire stuck in between the upper and lower tubes. A few karate chops later I managed to free the two pieces apart and found it was one of the copper “guides” (2nd picture). I put it all back together with 3/4 copper wires back in and all seems to be working well.

So for $10, how did I do this time? Have I redeemed myself?

(Also if anyone knows where I can find a replacement copper guide wire thingy, I’d greatly appreciate an link)
