I’ve had my Canyon Aeroad CFR Di2 for just 4 months — barely ridden, meticulously maintained. Always torqued bottle cage bolts to 2Nm and used the same cage + bolts setup I’ve run on previous bikes (Vitus, SL7) for years without a single problem.

Today, I tried removing a bottle cage bolt and the threaded insert (rivnut) inside the carbon frame started spinning freely. The screw is now stuck, and the insert just turns with it — meaning it’s come loose inside the carbon layup. Pretty unacceptable on a flagship frame, to be honest.

I’ve submitted a warranty request to Canyon and will update this post when I hear back.

For those curious, I’ve got a video of the issue in action and can drop it in the comments or DM.

Anyone else run into this issue on recent Aeroads or CFR frames?
