Springtime means fresh new tyres and pristine brake pads.
Time to wave goodbye to winter and darkness. My trusty Pathfinders have been dismounted, boxed and put on the shelve.
After taking a long break from Tufo (too many punctures) I'm giving the Thunderos another go. This time I've opted for the HD version for better durability, at least that's my hope.
So far I haven't noticed much difference in rolling resistance compared to the OG Thundero. There's a small weight penalty over the regular ones. But tbh I'm quite sure, I couldn't tell the difference in a back to back comparison. The HD's rolls nice and smooth.
My only complaint is regarding the aesthetics; I think Tufo tanwalls lacks texture and glow. Pathfinder and Terra speed (skin walls) does it way better.
Anyway, after a being on the fence for a long time, I guess my taste in tyres have finally settled on all black. No offence. I know this may be a highly polarising statement.
However; The tanwalls were the ones on sale. Soon they will be dusty and full of dirt…
Happy trails!
