Meet Block D in Blackbird Leys, a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom flats that are due for completion in spring 2026. With 61 flats in total, this helps us meet the huge demand for social rent homes in Oxford. A further 51 social rent flats are expected to be finished in 2027 in the district centre.
This week we had a ‘topping out’ ceremony with partners Peabody and The Hill Group, which officially marks that construction has reached its highest point.
Around the corner, Knights Road is also coming together. Knights Road will see 82 shared ownership homes, offering people an affordable route to home ownership. Anyone interested is encouraged to visit peabodynewhomes.co.uk/theaviary or call 020 3468 2605 for more information.
The project will also bring a raft of improvements to Blackbird Leys district centre, including new shops, green spaces, dedicated cycle routes, and a purpose-built community centre.
A detailed planning application for the new community centre was submitted in October. The application is expected to be decided by our planning committee in early summer.
