My wife was fall off the bike (she's okay), but unfortunately, the shifting system on her bike was damaged and does not move (it’s an older Shimano Nexus 8-hub). I’ve done some basic maintenance on our bikes before, like adjusting the gears on my manual shifter, cleaning, oiling, and even converting it to a pedelec using a Bafang system. So, I’m wondering if I might be able to replace the shifter myself.
Has anyone here had experience replacing this part (see the photos)? The rest of the system seems fine, but it looks like this part will need to be replaced.
