  1. Victories in every race says a lot. He's won – what – 14 or 14 TdFs consecutively? Even more Vueltas and Giros? Every classic he's ever entereed? I know those victories over everyone are why he's unbeatable.

  2. Excellent summary.

MvdP is on white-hot form. His 1-10 minute efforts are the best in the world. He rides position better than anyone. He’s been riding cobbles all his life.

I hope Pogi will follow him in Flanders and PR. Who else could follow MvdP? I hope Pogi saw in MSR that he cannot out power MvdP.

What can Pogi possibly do to beat Mathieu?

  3. Remember to enjoy it now! Boonen and Cancellara both were something like 32/33 when they won their last monuments. They seemed so dominant, but then didn’t get another. MVDP is 30, so likely another handful of years.

  4. If Mads, MVDP, and Pog arrive at a given point together, the course will dictate who is favored.
    Flat with sprint finish, Mads.
    Moderate climb requiring power, MVDP.
    High category climb, Pog.

  5. Dan, Thank you for your awesome perspectives and reporting.you are indeed the glue and gold standard of GCN. MVDP is a beast and let's not forget that 1. If someone wants to catch him, they have to go harder than him. Once he's settled in it's going to put most in the red to close a gap. 2. He's won a lot of races. with all the 'cross races he's raced he's become a master tactician. So if he has the legs you know he won't get beat. Classic example: 2022 finish of Ronde Van Vlaanderen comes to the line with TP, but allows the chasing group catch them and they eventually blocks Tadej and puts him out of the top 3. One of the greatest roll of the dice finishes even….and MVDP won it.

  6. THAT'S OUR LAD!!! People saying "he's the next Cav don't know the sport well enough. Brennan is more of a Girmay, Matthews or Sagan type rider/sprinter but stronger. It will be interesting to see how VISMA supports him. Kooij has been and is currently their "sprinter" but Brennan can sprint but he is more versatile so we will probably see him surpass Kooij (and I think Kooij is pretty good but this years performance isn't as good as last year's performance). This may give Brennan more opportunities than what you would expect a rider in his first year to get. I think he's a good candidate for some classics
    🤘🏻🇬🇧

  7. MVDP🤔 Even tho I'm not a fan (who the hell races with a €400,000 Richard Mille watch on, it's tacky smdh) his strength can't be denied. That lad has got some serious power but what I think is being overlooked is that MVDP is 75kg and Ganna is 83kg and on the Peteberg and the Kwaremont Ganna was probably putting out bigger numbers. Yes he lost about 5 secs on the Peteberg but his output had to have been more than MVDP
    🤘🏻🇬🇧

  8. Mads Pedersen beat MVDP last year in Gent-Wevelgem.
MVDP got so scared he didn’t want to meet Mads in this years Gent-Wevelgem 🤷🏼‍♀️
I don’t think MVDP would be undefeated in one day races this year, if he had ridden Gent-Wevelgem 🙂‍↔️
