Journalist: What’s your victory today? What’s your date? Was it chaotic? Was it dramatic? And at the end, in the end of the day, you won.
Lukas Kubis: Yeah, yeah. The weather from the start was pretty hard because of the temperature and rainy all the day. But we as a team managed it pretty well. Not pretty, but very well. And we were riding all the day in the front. We were chasing the break over there.
There. And from the entrance of the, on the local loop, we were riding from the front. Oh, I, I crashed there like 30 to go, but my guys waited for me, waited for me, and they brought me back to the bunch to the front. And after that, we tried. I was there with the cofidis rider and next. So after that, it came back one, one, one, one, another rider. And we were working pretty good together.
So cooperation was really well. And yeah, in the end, when they told me to the radio, it’s like a 10 seconds. So I, I was completely focused for a sprint.
I opened spring to like 3rd, 300, maybe 250 to go. I felt so strong. So I was believing in myself.
And then like 100 to go, I, I, I watched back and there was so big gap. So I, man, it’s first victory of the season for us. So we are very happy.
Journalist: Tietema for your team. We know that the dream of your team is to go to the Tour de France. It’s important to win here in France.
Lukas Kubis: Yeah, yeah. How you said, it’s the, it’s our dream. It’s the dream of every cycling site. I think because it’s the biggest race in the world. So if you are a football, football player, you want to play a Champions League, and in cycling, Champions League is Tour de France. So yeah, yeah, we are hoping and we are dreaming. We are dreaming big. So yeah, we want to do everything for a tour.
Journalist: When you fall down on the, when you crash, what did you say in your mind when you crash?
Lukas Kubis: It wasn’t bad crash. I almost break there and yeah, I just, I just fall down from my bike, but it was in, yeah, maybe five per hour in the speed. So it was so, so, so low speed. So it was not that bad crash. And yeah, then my guys waited for me and yellow broke me back to the front of the Benjen in the next loop. I tried and we were there in three guys and now it’s a victory. So we are happy.
