SOUTH DOWNS DAYS 2-4
We arrived back home from our South Downs adventure on Thursday afternoon. What an adventure!
Main points:
⛰️ 100 miles over four days with around 3800 metres of climbing
🚴🏼♀️ Frank was on her @iamspecialized Levo , us on @trekbikes
🧳 I can go away for four days with only half a pannier of stuff (I’m still not sure this actually happened)
💁🏼♀️ Our daughter is a machine
💪🏼 I rather stupidly did this with no training but appear to be fine (my bum disagrees), so sadly no more excuses!
Frankie has blown us away with her determination and we’re beyond proud of her. Though an enormous physical challenge, this was far more of a mental challenge, for both Frankie, working through the relentlessness of travelling that distance, and for us, navigating the ensuing emotional rollercoaster.
My concerns about pushing her too hard were laid to rest when she requested to go on a ride the day after we got home 💪🏼💕, it’s safe to say I did not join them 🤣.
I’m writing a blog about our trip for anyone interested in doing something similar.
Thank you for all your lovely comments and words of encouragement on the last post, I read them to Frank at the end of day two, when after 57 kilometres and 1300 metres of climbing, some kind words were very well received!
Back to school on Tuesday which I have very mixed emotions about. We’ve had such an amazing summer which I don’t want to end, however work is not just calling, it’s now screaming at me and I need to pretend to be a grown up again 😑.
I hope you’ve all had some fun adventures this summer ❤️.
