This video was filmed in Girona, Catalunya, Spain; a cycling mecca that has been home to many professional cyclists including Ben O’Connor, Jack Haig, Esteban Chaves, Ryan Mullen, George Bennett, James Knox, Dorian Godon, Jay Vine, and at one point George Hincappie, Lance Armstrong and Tyler Hamilton. Girona is used for training for races such as the Tour de France, Volta Catalunya, Vuelta Espana, Paris-Nice, Giro d’Italia and more. Teams such as Bora-Hansgrohe, INEOS-Grenadiers, Israel-Premier Tech Pro Cycling, Human Powered Health, Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team, UAE Team Emirates and others use Girona for team training camps and rider testing.

  1. Tip #11, take up a 2nd discipline if you can! Skills on multiple surfaces from either gravel or MTB's pay off! Interesting trend lately in races with folks who have big Zwifter engines, but can't navigate a corner or make smooth movements.

  2. My training when at my peak:
    Monday rest
    Tuesday 20 miles
    Wednesday 30 miles
    Thursday 40 miles
    Friday rest
    Saturday 80-100 miles
    Sunday +/- 60 miles
    About 12 hours/week

  3. Tip for those that don't have a cadence meter, try using music. You can look up music that has a 90bpm beat and cycle to that, I use it a bit even though I have a meter because its easy to keep pace without looking at stats. Open ear headphones are king for this if you have some.

  4. great tips, tell you what's interesting about Beginner Cyclists, they're using Zwift and/or coming into sport via indoor training, its probably a better (safer?) way to start out fitness wise, certainly a shift in how we experience cycling. Maybe some never go outdoors😀

  5. Mate, this’s one of thee best, and most informative, cycling videos that will help riders in many aspects let alone helping them ride faster. Everything you said is on point! Well done.
