Gun shots, dogs giving chase, intense hills and tough terrain were just part of the hardest day of my trip cycling across Europe. I’m digging into everything that went down this day cycling from Slovenia to Croatia and how I made it through each challenge thrown my way.

Cycling Across Europe: The Hardest Day

  1. Was this using Maps.me by any chance? That app, as wonderful as it is, has led me down some… insanely vertical dirt paths, to say the least. Never though a gun range though, whoa!! Great video, really enjoyed this one a lot, isn't it funny how the most challenging days on a bike typically end up as the best very stories!?

  2. All is well that ends well. I’ve bike toured in Europe the past 2 summers. I experienced a few really challenging days, but always knew I’d prevail and tomorrow would likely be memorable for something great.

  3. This was a rely nice vlog, telling your fear and happines. I know that. Is not all fun, sometimes you meet your weakeniss. And then, next moment you can feel happy again. Thank you, for telling this.

  4. Thanks for sharing. That was a very special day, yes agreeable, scary and exhausting. But I am glad everything ended up well. My kids and I just did a bikepacking trip in France and also had one day very similar…lost on some unknown road, no one around, low in water, exhausted from so many km from the rest of the day, "only" 25 km away from destination at 5:30pm, and simply lost! We also ended up fine but we were glad the day was over…

  5. Holy crap! The fact that you just didn't QUIT the damn trip is amazing…of course, you would have had to BIKE OUT of the damn trip, so I guess you had to go on….but GO YOU! The frickin' dog was the "icing on the cake of crap!"

  6. I have been chased by a herd of dogs, I have been attacked by an armed robber, I have been cycling for 17h till midnight, I have heared gunshots, I had multiple flat tires on a single hill, I had to push my bike through a mud hill,
But the hardest thing is when my wife asks me to get the trash out just after I took my shoes off, it is so painfull, so frustrating 😤
Any one had experienced such a mis-happ, if so, always remember, you are not alone.🙏
