I did Puig Major from Soller and Sa Calobra out and back ride last year which also has the HC climb on the return leg and I am not a climber coming from the rolling hills of Essex. I did have compact chainset with a Ultegra 32t rear cassette mind otherwise I would have been seriously grinding and unable to maintain my normal 90 cadence.. Just make sure you have enough clif bars and gels.. Many riders from the flat lands of the UK mainly do not realise you have to get over a mountain pass just to get to the start of Ca Calobra, whilst Puig Major is the longest climb on the mountain you have the option of coming over the absolute peach of a climb the Coll De Batalla.. Honestly if Carlsberg made cycling destinations Majorca would be it…

Something I am going to do should I gett o holiday in Mallorca in a couple of years time – hire a bike in Soller and cycle this road. Looks amazing
