After Brokeback Mountain the portrayal of Jake Gyllenhaal as a tough guy just doesn't make sense to me….. I've seen a couple of other movies where his character is some sort of bad-ass fighter and regardless of how many times I see him kick some other guy's ribs in I simply cannot get past Brokeback Mountain……

Sorry! I am so sorry! but I still like the first one better. Why? Well, not at all for lack of the astonishing skills of Connor. Not at all for lack of the amazing absorbtion of Jake, which is truly impressive. no…. but, it is hard to not see it as a political thing….. Hollywood is rife with that. No, and I truly do appreciate that you depict that two or three slam on punches will just shut a man down. Old Hollywood seemed to believe that a human man could sustain 20-40-60 full on punches and keep on fighting. This is just bullshit. No, you nailed that. And thank you.
I just see this movie as a spin-off to the classic and I see Jake gyllenhaal's character as the son of Patrick's character so in that film that's Dalton Junior
