Day 2: Saint-Martin-de-Lerm to Le Mas d’Agenais to Cycling the Canal de Garonne
Our journey continues as we leave Saint-Martin-de-Lerm and start the day with a few rolling hills to warm up. Before long, we reach the medieval town of La Réole, perched on the banks of the Garonne River. From here, the ride becomes easier as we follow the dikes and connect with the scenic Canal de Garonne.
Pedaling along the peaceful canal, we take in the tranquil surroundings and enjoy the well-maintained cycling path. Along the way, we have the option to detour to Couthures-sur-Garonne, a village where we can learn about life along the river, both past and present.
Our day ends in the charming village of Le Mas d’Agenais, home to an incredible historic church that houses a remarkable Rembrandt painting. Another beautiful day of cycling in France is in the books!
