A nice ride around the Aylesbury Vale where I visit Eythrope which is just a short distance from Aylesbury. It was great to be out in the spring sunshine.
Great shame that the land owner was fit to close and paint with anti climb paint the gate that used to provide easy access up to the ridge and beyond to Waddesdon Manor. I have heard various explanations but don't know the real reason for the closure, still it does seem a very petty thing to do.
Most enjoyable Karl, it was interesting to see your way out from the town over the railway to join up with the more familiar A418 bit. You made reference to a gate closed on the Eythrope estate, I heard that some cyclists were abusive to the owner so access was closed off.
Cracking ride Karl..there was a time when I rode through to Waddesdon before they got a bit nasty about riders going through the estate. Nice route to The Greenway, will give it a go this year👍Cheers
