After one of our last episodes talking about UK cycling events where we completely failed to mention Audaxing, Triathlon Dan has been on a 200km Audax so he can give us his thoughts on them!

  1. From my experience audax riders are very anti social… tried 3 or 4 and barely anyone speaks to you. Not for me.

Sportives I just don't get, why would I pay to ride on roads I can ride for free just to get a 'free gel' at an 'aid station'. And they definitely aren't a race either… if you want a race put a number on your back.

  2. After my first 200KM brevet last year I got a Steel frame and fork, Randouneering bike with 35CC tires. I love the events and the cool old bikes I also really reccomend it to anyone as well

  3. I thought Audax’s were total nonsense and I had no interest. Your first video (Tri-Dan) changed my opinion to the point where I’d consider doing one in future. Seems like a purposeful way to do long steady distance, a good motivator

  4. I love an audax, its just a good day out with ya bike. 100km audax events can draw a big crowd, like over 100 riders and often have a slightly different feel to the longer events. You get a lot more cycling club groups which can be fast, also a lot of new to audax riders.
