A video about my recent trip to Belgium with my friend Adam to watch two cycling races, Omloop Nieuwsblad and Kuurne Brussels Kuurne.
Opening Weekend sees these two races run back to back on consecutive days and they signal the start of the Spring Classics season in Flanders. Riders and fans alike spend the whole winter anticipating its arrival.
We stayed in Oudenaarde, which is in the Flemish province of East Flanders and it is a beautiful town, full of history and home to the finish of the famous Ronde van Vlaanderen cycling race and its museum too!
On the way to Oudenaarde, we made a stop at Ypres to see the Menin Gate and pay our respects to the fallen from the Great War. We’d never been there before and it was quite a humbling moment.
