How many bikes do you have? What else would you like to add to your bike collection? π
If you do this again you should ask a couple more probing questions about them. I'd love to know if they have gravel, or mtb, or city, or if they're all only road/TT. Only a few said without asking. Then you get to know more about the rider. The people who gave longer answers were more interesting. And ask have they jazzed up or customised any in geeky or tech ways, or do they only into racing on them. π
It's funny how so many of these riders didn't at first consider their town bikes should be included, when to the rest of the world, that's what owning a bike is all about!
There has to be a language issue here which is tripping up riders. Theyβre like I have one bike, my road bike. Oh also my tt bike. Canβt forget the mountain bike. Oh you mean like regular bikes for weak people? Of course I have the bike for shopping, and the one for the kid, and my old track bikes. Thereβs one permanently attached to the trainer and the ones I hang on my wall. But just the one bike though.
5 bikes.. and i own them all.. lol
Should have asked Jasper if he crashes into his personal bikes with his team bikes.
Can pro cyclists count, they seem unsure of how many bikes they have at homeβ¦β¦β¦
I own my old commute/shopping bike and two road bikes. Road bike number three will come, once the insurance company finally pays for the bike that got destroyed by a car last year August.
3 bikes: hardtail MTB, gravel bike and a granny grocery getter…
Last I count, I was up to 26 π
Damn I own more than most of these pros. I think I have a problem. Please help me. Anyway, funny interview. I can tell the pros like the questions because they love their bikes genuinely.
The rule I use for the appropriate bike count is one MTB, one gravel, one city/commuter/brewery bike, one TT bike and two road bikes , because you always need a backup in case something breaks. So 6 is the bare minimum. Seven if you count that first nice bike you bought and will always regret selling for the rest of your life.
I own about 15 bikes…..
Oh hang on, that's only in my dreams! π€ ππ²π΅π΄
Bikes depreciate so fast that they are not worth selling, so the number of bikes is directly proportional to one's age and so no surprise that young pros don't own many.
Currently zero, saving for my first proper road bike and the accessories needed to go with it.
I'd like to hear from them why they're not too aware of how many bikes they have.
Pro riders… Amateur numbers π
What we need to know now: does Visma-Lease a Bike incorporate pump track riding into their training?
Loved this! Should ask at more races
I hope. my wife never watches this video…. I own more bikes than most of these prosπ€
I own 5 fully functional and maintained bikes plus enough frames and parts for 3 more.
3 Recumbent bikes, 2 Recumbent trikes, 3 basic mountain bikes, 5 road bikes, 1 home made trike (not by me), and 2 unicycles. Plus my wife's 1 mountain bike. My goodness, I think I need to downsize. Not sure how I ended up with so many. Each one has a story though.
Shocked that they have so fewβ¦
I have 16 I own, and a couple abandoned ones at my bike shop that Iβm unsure who owns at this pointβ¦
If we count scooters and dirt bikes, itβs another 7.
I clearly have a problem.
I have 5 bikes: 2 road, 2 gravel and my new XC MTB !
More than one road bike is too many. Road biking is boring AF. Get a MTB ay!
16 plus a tandem, a trail-a-bike, a tandem trail-a bike, a unicycle and 3 trailers. They are not all mine. Some are my kids old bikes (now used by the grandkids). 5 of the bikes are my wifeβs. So only 8 are mine, touring bike, two road bikes, cross bike with studs for winter riding, fat bike with studs, two mountain bikes, and a folding bike. I have a hard time letting go of my old bikes and too much available storage space.π
Three: two road and one gravel. I own them. Ms. Jackson is my favorite women's rider. I'm glad to hear she has a lot of bikes. Mr. Chavez, though, is π.
I have only own 5 π three full suspension, one hardtail and a gravel bike. Ride the hardtail the most nowadays. It used to be my 165/170 suspension then 120/130 mm but now the hardtail. Gravel is so I can keep up with my daughter on the roads and is becoming my commuter bike. Maybe a road bike next. Canβt believe I am saying that. Maybe even cliplessβ¦..for now flats all the way.
4 bikes (gravel, road, track, back-up)
I have and own four: three road racing bikes and a bodged CX bike I put together in 1995! Not lucky or talented enough to have free team bikes! ππππ
this is a good video. Keep it up mates!
wait. so pro cyclists don't get to keep the bikes they train/race on? does this mean gcn presenters get gifted more bikes than pro cyclists?
also we need more floortje mackaij content on GCN. she's a natural.
What kind of question is "two or three"?
Do you uhhnnn
Funny thing that a lot of the people watching this video have probably more bikes at home than those people in the video π
How many could you cobble together from all the old parts you own?
4 plus 6 family bikes
β€ love it
The confusion of seeing pro riders trying to count and then realising that they own no bikes…..
4 – 2 road and 2 mountain bikes π
It's bizarre to me that so many riders whose life basically revolves around cycling own less bikes than some amateurs π It would be interesting to hear the answers from the really big names. Perhaps their contractual terms are different than those lower down the pecking order. It seems odd to me that Pogacar would earn millions a year yet not get a least a couple of bikes each year on a permanent ownership basis chucked into the deal…
1 or 2 people here is 100% honest, is there that much secrecy needed haha..
Quite sad how few of them owned or considered transport bikes to be actual bikes π’
