  1. thousands of youtubers doing the same, showing the same, telling the same, with the same titles, the same clickbaits, the same graphics and the same treats, showing cleavage, talking horny or whatever. Too much, too many, feeded by even more thousands of simps, or internet-schooled people that can't even think on their own and come to youtube to ask even the color of the bike they should buy but "me have no money, bike too expensive".
it has been a culture of the last 10+ years, it has been the demolition of the people brains. Sadly it won't end soon, and it will become even worst.

  2. What people who are worried about the state of industry should understand is that all the riders who where there before the COVID BOOM of riding are there now plus there are more who discovered it. As the inventory sells through and gets back to normal, many brands will strengthen, yes we will lose some but that's just business and a lot of poor decision making. Too many companies thought they could capitalize on the market and make more bikes than anyone and keep selling with no thought as to how many people were actually out there to buy product (information they had access to by the way) and how many other companies were thinking the same way they were. That basically screwed up everyone else who played it smart. At least now it's improving but 2026 will probably be the more promising year. One other factor – Nothing that exciting has happened for bikes in the last few years other than 1x 12 and electronic drivetrains so there's not much to upgrade to when buying something new. Very small changes or improvements and nothing that is a "Have to Have" product. ….but we needed a little slow down anyway, make bigger changes less often instead of so many little ones that hardly effect anything.

  3. In a word "greed". The end. It's a historical fact that anytime something starts to become successful a bunch of people try and squeeze the shit out of it for maximum profit knowing at the same time they'll chocking it to death.

  4. Thought he was going to explain the problem. What a waste of my time. It's all about the 60 year old Shwinn siting here that still works.
    WTF UP.

  5. Man, we're STILL hearing the "bikes are too expensive" belly aching? GIVE IT A REST!
Bikes are FAR BETTER than in the early years. You get a LOT more for your buck. A $3k bike today is WAY better than a $3k bike 20 years ago. So one could argue bikes have FALLEN in price.
    1) Hydraulic disc brakes. SO much better, especially compared to the typical cantilever brake in the 80's. Much higher tolerances & FAR better performance. But at a cost.
    2) Stronger & lighter cranks & BB axles.
    3) 12-speed cassettes are stronger AND lighter. I broke a LOT of axles in the '70's and '80's. Haven't broken one since the advent of the cassette hub.
    4) Carbon full suspension frames are now the norm for bikes aimed at the aggressive rider.
    5) Carbon rims. These cost a LOT more to produce. $3k for a wheelset? If you want carbon rims & really good hubs.
    6) Excellent suspension. Fox SERIOUSLY upped suspension quality, durability, travel and adjustability. But at a cost. When Fox entered the market, their forks cost double of what was currently available at the time. This brought up everyone in the market's game, increasing prices.
    7) Dropper posts. These ALONE add $400 to the bike's price.
    8) Electronic shifting. Yet another pricey technology.
    9) Bikes designed to be ridden HARD on CRAZY terrain. Bike parks, flow & big drop trails didn't exist in the 80's, 90's, & '00s. (Save for BMX tracks.)
    10) Through-axles. Nice upgrade that's very stiff while staying light.
Ten reasons. I'm sure there are more.

  6. he left out the part where all the bike company executives lined their pockets then beat feet and hauled ass knowing the shit show they created was coming shortly . I have worked in the powersports industry for 33 years now and its the same story over there, and its the third time I have gone through the boom bust scenario in my industry . we have KTM, and Arctic Cat halting all production , and 3 years of inventory in warehouses, costs rising , profits down, demand down. I have seen it before and when the covid boom was going on I was hoping the industry leaders would see how to sustain a long term profitable industry , maintain a controlled supply, keep demand high and profits up. they didn't do that. they pumped production to levels that were way more than demand, forced dealers into more inventory than they wanted or could sell and now profits are crashing while a select few high ups in the industry got rich and hauled ass leaving the poor dealers with mounting debt and inventory and struggling to survive and workers like me wondering when our hrs will get cut or we loose our jobs all together . to sum up what caused this and ruined everything. GREED

  7. I'm 68 and don't race anymore. But I have a 2015 Trek rumblefish. Paid 2500 back in the day now ride Canyon Gravel. 40 mm makes riding ez on the body. All I can say is for all you guys in your thirties and forties seize the moment I thought I'd never get old and not be able to climb the the things I used to do. I can't believe bikes became so expensive like the guy said you could buy a motocross bike for the same price! But beware between crashes physical job life is not what it used to be.. you'll recover when you're young but all that abuse will catch up can you get over 65.i was still riding Big Bear lake at 60!

  8. Start running mountain bikes 1988. If you don't think it breaks my heart bike shops going under, you are so wrong 😭 in the 90s I would have never thought that the bike industry would turn into this s*** show. Greedy bastards not the bike shop owners but the bike shop companies! You can buy a Ducati for almost the price for top-end tour bike

  9. I'm not an MTB guy… more of a roadie… I've got a 10 year old Roubaix that retailed for $7,800 back in 2014… That "same bike" now is in the $15,000+ range… WHY???

  10. I enjoyed this. Funny, clever and witty.
You should make movies and fuck this video shit and bike shit too.
Now strictly recreational and lovin’ it

  11. $5000-$10000 for a damn bicycle…. THATS the problem. A consumer can buy a brand new motorcycle/dirtbike. My local Trek shop has prices as much as a Kawasaki 300R dirtbike. Thats crazy.

  12. In my area I'm noticing a trend towards (after decades of the reverse) parents moving away from driving their kids to school, to riding with them on bikes. That's something the industry needs to get behind; plus it is better for everybody.

  13. Just buy a surron put the kaniwabi pedal and mtb seat on it with long distance range and you have a powerful long distance mtb simple oh and youll have 6 grand left over

  14. When a hobby sport makes products that are stupidly expensive, hobbyists will continues to use the scraps they have. How much more important is to buy an object that is insanely expensive just to show you have an expensive object now? When I see a bad ass looking bike on a car rack rolling down the road, I just laugh. Sure it’s cool, but they and I will go down the same trail just the same. After all the upgrades on my Hardtail, I think I’ve spent a solid $200. It works fantastically well and I don’t even have to wear those tight ass outfits that I guess one has to own when having such a fancy bike. IT’S A BAAAAAAAAIKE!!! The bike industry can suck it if they keep trying to make people spend so much for a thing that is used a handful of times a year, because that’s how it goes. I thought crap was supposed to be cheaper when made in China!

  15. I wonder how top MTBs are twice and more expensive, than top EUCs (the last ones are like powerful motorcycles, but small, silent and eco-friendly).

  16. So, E Bikes are bicycles too! I know, BRAIN doesn't even count them. I get it. But, in a World view, Soo many companies are moving forward and into the future! Mid drive Mountain bikes are amazing! Sure, I am an old guy. I still ride my 86 Slingshot, around town. And I love to ride my new amazing carbon Fiber mid drive full suspension E Mountain Bike off Road. Loved it in Moab. Felt like the 90's again, climbing hills, and scampering along the white dot trail, soo much fun. And that's the Key. E bikes can be really, Really Fun! Stop by my bike shop, and We can go for a loop up over the dam, and through Lory State Park, over Bingham hill road and back again. Maybe you can help me wrench on all these bikes I am working on. I need some help here! Soo many bikes to work on. Thanks to all the bike shops in town sending me E bike work. . . See you in CABDA West! Let's Ride

  17. I got a Giant Talon from my LBS in 2023 and it was around $800 stock, about $1k after some upgrades. I don't necessarily regret it because I like to support my local shop, but I ended up not liking the MTB trails near me and sticking to the paved and gravel trails anyway, so the Ozark Trail would have worked just fine for my riding and cost half as much. It's hard to imagine telling the average person to spend what I did on a bike.
