Would prefer riding on augmented reality or something totally virtual? 🚴🎮
A million times better than swift
I absolutely prefer it to Zwift. only downside is it really needs a strong Internet, WiFi and platform. Otherwise it is REALLY CLUNKY.
I like Rouvy but for one thing. In workout (erg) mode, it seems to use the power it gets from the smart trainer to control resistance to meet power targets, rather than using the power from my bike's actual power meter. I have an older Kickr (v. 1) and the power readings (which are not real power readings) are 5-10% lower than my PM readings. This results in my target power being set too high by Rouvy. Any thoughts on how to fix that? (I would prefer NOT to have to continually adjust settings using the "+" and "-" icons on the screen).
I've tried Rouvy a few times and pay them a monthly subscription just in case it's icy out, but I haven't found myself enjoying it. There are some of my favorite local rides in Rouvy but something about the mechanics is off. An example would be a flat section of road with no grade (like say, the east side of Carter Lake) in real life, but Rouvy has applied as varying grade from -2% to 4% at random. So I'll be riding on a flat section and Rovy will be varying the trainer resistance all over the place. I find it difficult being immersed in it when it is so far off from the way the routes ride in the real.
Connor is a giant. That frame looks 2 sizes too small.
Just left zwift for Rouvy.
Rouvy has a better UI and general better over all feel.
Zwift is so far behind in its graphics and needs a major upgrade.
The amount of money the company makes and they still run 1990's graphics.
Absolutely Love Rouvy, any idea when we will be able to use VR Headsets?
I wonder whether they have a simulation of a bike shop which sells good quality bikes and parts for sensible prices, instead of a large chunk of your pension pot.
Hey all you guys which smart trainer do you recommend? This is a tough decision. I already had a bad experience with the Tacx Neo 2T Thanks
why is the playback of the videos so slow? is there a way to speed it up?
I tried Tacx Training, Zwift, and Rouvy. Didn't like Zwift with its cartoonish feel and weird Minecraft-like tracks. I just don't feel like I'm really cycling when using Zwift.
Tacx Training is actually similar to Rouvy with real footage, but has no augmented reality, you don't even see any other cyclists in there, you're always alone.
Rouvy is beautiful, has many features and a good ranking and challenges system to make you progress.
I hate the video game look and feel of Zwift and MyWhoosh. I use Fulgaz, which uses real routes filmed on Go Pro while riding. Much more realistic. I haven’t used Rouvy, but it still looks like a video game to me.
Love Rouvy …. way better than Zwift for my persoanal preferences.
How about the trainer difficulty setting? I hear it's not clear how gradients reflect their real life equivalent.
Rouvy blows the others out of the water. The fact that I can train on the routes that I will be racing next summer is amazing.
Only interesting for me if i can turn off this mickey mouse avatar bullshit. Is this possible?
Hopefully more gravel routes and maybe MTB in the future
what trainer do we need to buy?
I rode the Tacx Fortius for many years (15 years ago?). I'm just trying the Rouvy free week trial. It is quite disappointing that the video isn't as good as Tacx was years ago. The integration of workouts within videos is great.
the avatar pedaling needs to match exactly to your actual pedaling…. if its off i know that would bother me. also the pedaling needs to match exactly with incline gearing and actual movement on virtual road. otherwise it looks like you are sliding unnaturally on the virtual road. not so small details that would drive me absolutely nuts. my brain like to see real physics. my brain like to have things synced up. these ignored details are noticeable on many video games while some game designers take this into account and really try to make movement accurate looking. makes a huge difference to me. like watching musicians play to unsynced video a second late from the sound , as a musician, total insanity and unwatchable. otherwise spectacular system huge task to develop this…can i test this in the philadelphia area?
I recently switched to Rouvy and the video quality is really refreshing, i am somewhat disappointed that you can't communicate with other riders, and the lack of other riders in the group rides. Initial impression is very good and still learning.
i moved to Rouvy about a year ago after years on Zwift and trying other platforms and never looked back i enjoy the reality of the rides and i find the resistance most realistic relative to the slops then other platforms a 6% climb feels like the 6% climb on my normal route
the problem with rouvy i have is that i cant get the feeling away that i'm watching a car with a camera mounted on the hood. The frame rate isnt great and the sense of speed is also not there …
Its cool to see real life scenary but the lack of speed feeling is kind of not emmersive . Zwift on the other hand feels lazy… micro updates … seems like my money is for the sponsoring of tdf avec zwift..
I'm considering this because of sprawling development. The rural areas where we would ride are now being developed into subdivisions; it's getting more dangerous to ride in real life.
