  1. Yes the status of Motherhood needs to be elevated & incentivised & celebrated. This will require developed nations to redesign their economies to redirect resources to this effect.
Or whole nations of peoples can just slowly fade away over the next 50 yrs. That will of course be messy.

  2. In the USA alone women annihilate over ONE MILLION corporeal vessels for the souls of other humans every year. With the day after abomination they can now flush the corporeal vessel down the toilet. When you realize that women obliterate other people at d#@th c@mp rates you have to wonder at the true character of women. If women could control their bodies they would not have to engage in mass redrum. Women have absolute freedom and they have surely shown us how degraded their character really is.

  3. Excellent insights, Elvira! The "givers" are getting crushed by "the winners." They are "winning" a game whose rules only they know. The "givers" are forced to play without a clue how to "win" or interest therein.

  4. It would be difficult to pin the reason for low birth rates on one single reason rather its a long and exhaustive list of reasons where its a matter of "all things considered".

  5. While I can agree to the most I see the core of the issue differently. Is there an actual problem at all?

I mean look around – do you feel there are not enough people around? Do you honestly wish for more?

I am not saying some people are not needed just that the goal of procreation isn't just growth. Any species procreate so they can survive and expand into new environments. This is what humans already did. We don't see too few people around nor new unexplored lands calling. We have resource shortage not surplus. And it can be seen and felt in everyday life.

What if the current birth rates decline is just a natural response to it? It doesn't have to end with the demise of civilization but maybe natural rebalancing of global population at some new number.

  6. Women, given the opportunity to change the industrial world, passed the effort to better us- by. Then, idolized the outcome. Men's permission to get where we got is the core of the illusion. This problem also reduces the drive to be involved with women. Hard to date what you can't stomach

  7. Political choices of the new greedy rulers has deconstructed the great western civilication where one income was enough so women could have three children or more. But working full time is slavework if you add three children. Instead of giving workers enough wages and women rights to survive as single parents the new feudalists, the new rich elite takes all resources away from the population and the few super rich pocket all earning, even move their buisnesses out of the west to cheaper workers so they get even richer. The capitalism our great western society was buildt on was sharing the resources. Without equality we have destroyed the best culture endeing up with globalists and oligarchs who are billionares by grabbing the resources that belong to everyone. The small new rich elite owns the world and millions in the west has nothing and are told our culture is shameful. Our western culture of sharing and equality is shameful theft by the few. The old west need to be reinstated. Millions of immigrants who want the west to fail has to go
The globalists and oligarchs has to share their trillions. Or the greatest culture is dead and the morality and ethics will be forgotten. The future bleak and our population enslaved by the new feudalist ruling class will be above the law. Islamists will take over the lost culture of the west and the future dictatorship by greedy psycophats will replace the free western society.

  8. 1. It is not reasonable ecologically to maintain such level of global population. Population stabilization after population decrease is necessary.
    2. Shrinking population can be managed technically by automation and making trades more desirable. On trades: there are too many people in office jobs not being intelligent enough for them in the West.
    3. Shrinking population areas must be protected against incompatible immigrants until the growing population areas will reach their new steady state population after their own population decrese after their own peak population.

  9. This is just wrong. She is mistaking correlation for causation and poorly comparing points in history. In the past even men worked different jobs than today, mostly farming. Basically farms needed free labor so we tried to have any many kids as possible. Not to mention child mortality rates made pumping out kids a numbers. Once farming tech and medical evolved we did not need that many babies and moved work into the city. That image of a women as a more just happened at the same as farming and large birthrates. Russia is pushing this narrative and still seeing plummeting birthrates. Straight fact is we have not solved the birthrate issue both liberal and conservative ideas have failed. The conservative ideas though have the horrid side effect of undoing decades of progress for no gains, while liberals basically just means a little higher taxes on wealthy.

  10. No immediate need for kids in a industrialized society with fewer farms and ranches remaining — kids become more of a luxury. Men have noticed their role in Nature involves accepting their loss of Romance — to have a family. Without the necessity for children — on the farm — and retirement 50 years away — it's hard to see the need for raising a family.

  11. I am very much enjoying your excellent content. I recently listened only to a couple of your videos. I was surprised that I found them much harder to follow then when I watched your presentation. I sincerely suggest that some diction coaching might improve your viewership. I say this humbly as a native English speaker.

  12. Birth rates are tied directly to income inequality. FDR's New Deal brought about a time of great prosperity for the wide masses and this in turn brought about a huge bump in birth rates – The Baby Boom generation. It is a myth that men returning from war caused the baby boom. There had simply not been that many American men deployed overseas to account for anything but a fraction of the baby boom. It was unionised working men and women with job security and livable wages who produced the baby boom.
If you make a graph of income inequality and birth rate, the corelation is astounding. Better than any other, except for housing prices as a ratio of income.
Morality and social movements can budge the needle a little (and their effects are way overblown by the pearlclutchers), but income inequality is what actually shifts the needle back and forth.
Everythjng else is just a smokescreen put up by big capital to keep its profits up.

  13. 0:56 "… and what can be done to reverse this trend.” Many things can be done, but they will not succeed. Pronatalists are fighting, and losing, an uphill battle. Including such powerful figures as Vladimir Putin, Elon Musk and JD Vance. Get used to it: Birth rates will continue going down. It’s not so much faith, or the lack of it. It’s not so much money, or the lack of it. A more credible hypothesis, already, is the question of status, especially for women: because when asked ‘what do you do for a living?’, the answer ‘I raise my children’ is never a rewarding one. But it is, above all, time, or the lack of time, the way in which time is experienced in modernity.

What is time made of? It's made up of 4 elements when there's room for only 3 of them, unless you want to be heading towards fundamental dissatisfaction due to a lack of time – a dissatisfaction that can lead to burn-out and the destruction of a personality.

The 4 elements are: 1) Sleep. 2) Work. 3) Family (children). 4) ‘Leisure’ (screens, reading, love, friendships, solitude, playing a musical instrument, personal development, etc.)

Can you do without sleep? Obviously not. Cutting back on sleep is bad for your health. Very. Can you do without work? Yes, if you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. In other words: no, you can't. That leaves only two adjustment variables.

If you are reasonable, you do what the watchdogs of reasonable living keep telling you: when you reach ‘adulthood’, you behave like an adult and drastically reduce the amount of time you devote to ‘leisure’, particularly screen time. But here's the snag: living an adult life, a reasonable life, is the best way to miss out on life. Life without kids is freer, more peaceful and more prosperous than family life. This has become impossible to hide.

  14. I don't think it's that complicated. If you think about what stops births from taking place first place you probably should take a look at is birth control. It's literally in the name. If you disconnect sex from births, the biggest motivations driving births completely vanishes.

People are just in complete denial because they want to have their cake and eat it too. Nobody wants to sacrifice anything. It's the era of selfishness and self destruction.

Also there's obviously third alternative to immigration and increasing birth rates: cutting off dependents. Reduce social spending like welfare and pensions. It's in my opinion the obvious best route. You're not replacing your people with strangers and you're increasing the ability of your country to perform and compete. Best of all worlds would be to increase births but this is politically even more difficult as it would include much heavier intervention into peoples lives.

  16. In the 19th century there was a period of demographic inertia when newly-urbanised couples still had a lot of children , as their rural parents had, despite living in cramped urban housing on low wages. But over successive generations, as status and success in life became increasingly tightly connected to how much money you earn (and by extension, to education) it made more and more sense to have fewer children, children becoming a net cost rather than an asset as they were in less-monetised, rural peasant societies.

The former, semi-collective mode of child-rearing, in rural peasant and hunter-gatherer societies, served as a buffer against specific bad parents, and also early deaths of parents from accidents and illnesses. The current, highly atomised conception of nuclear families leaves children vulnerable to a wide range of bad circumstances that can develop within these insular nuclear families.

  17. Today , there will be more humans on this planet than there was yesterday , as has been the case of much of human history . There is no guarantee this will continue forever , nor should it , at it's current pace .

  18. Bringing children into the world is the sign of an optimistic society . If you have swallowed the non sense of climate catastrophe and extinction, why would you want to have kids .

  19. I'm a father of 2 so i "did the child thing" i guess. People not having child is not an issue because our biosphere is dying and human societies are rotten. So some kind of reset is needed anyway. I think capitalism killed himself with this one. You can't compare with the past because birth control exist and you don't rely on your child to keep you alive in your old days. To push economic growth it was required for women to work full time job while in the past one income with a fraction of modern productivity was enough for a household. Obviously the economics geniuses thats pushed such policies did not think people could work less hours to compensate. So independtly of your income class (except for the richests) you have 2 full time workers that should take care of children, there is simply no room for this. Certainly not for 3+ childs. You can partially compensate with money but what's the point of having children in the first place if you have to work extra hours for other people to attend them while you're busy at work ? There's no satisfaction in that. Your point on small communities is also an evolution of the economic system, i was very pushed during my studies to move abroad to have an open mind on where to find a good job, the consequences is my parents can't help and i have to pay professionals to take care of my chils when they are sick for example.

I talked with women pre birth control that told at least some of their childs were unwanted, it was very common.

  20. Elvira you laid out many hard truths about falling birth rates, but I'm surprised that you didn't mention easy access to birth control. – Accidental Guy
