2019 project one Gen3 SLR 56cm in mint condition. Juxed up a custom build GRX Di2 48×31 4iii dual side pwr meter. Paired with road Aeolus 5, 25mm tires w/ 3T 9-32 Bailout cassette (the last on the planet) & on gravel Aeolus 3, 40mm tires w/ e13 9-39 cassette.
Crazy gear ratios:
On road my 48×9 is faster than a 53×10. My low side 31×32 is better than 1 to 1 low gear.
On gravel my 31×39 is better than 40×50
I Had an opportunity to get a Gen4 but for Trek to say they ditched the front Isospeed to save weight & you get the same compliance from bigger tires was a bit hypocritical. Why then wasn't the rear Isospeed removed. Over time & long rides you get worn out faster up front. Especially if your riding 25-28 mm tires. They need to scrub those old vides that criticize Gen 1 for being unbalanced 😂. The weight is the same if you have larger tires. & On gravel I don't feel the weight difference at all. Gen3 is a BEAST…
