Leaving Moss behind, we begin our journey north along **Fv 21**, a road that quickly takes us away from the denser settlements of Østfold and into more peaceful landscapes. The road winds through rolling hills and farmland, and as we head further north, the scenery gradually shifts to dense forests.
At Kongsvinger, we continue along **Fv 210**, where the road narrows and becomes more dynamic. This stretch offers a mix of open plains and tree-lined sections, with long, flowing curves that make for a smooth and enjoyable ride. After passing Elverum, we take the road along the **eastern side of the Glomma River**, a quieter route that gives a true sense of riding off the beaten path.
Next, **Fv 219** leads us into higher terrain, and the landscape slowly transforms. The road starts to climb, the curves tighten, and the dense forests begin to give way to open mountain plateaus. Turning onto **Fv 27**, we find ourselves in the stunning Rondane region, where the road winds through wide valleys and rugged ridges, offering breathtaking views in all directions.
The final stretch on **Fv 29** takes us into Dovrefjell, a vast, untamed landscape dominated by towering peaks and raw, Arctic tundra. Here, we park the bikes and set off on foot towards **Snøhetta**, a hike that rewards us with panoramic views over the surrounding mountain ranges.
On the way up, we spot **musk oxen**, the ancient giants of Dovrefjell, calmly grazing in the wild. It is a rare and humbling sight—these creatures have roamed these lands for thousands of years, perfectly adapted to this harsh environment.
Standing at the summit of Snøhetta, looking out over the vast mountain wilderness, we realize that this journey has offered everything—a mix of small, winding roads, challenging terrain, absolute tranquility, and a glimpse into Norway’s wild and untouched nature.
