ETA: before around 2021 or so the Crux was a CX bike, and CX bikes actually usually don’t make the best gravel bikes due to less tire clearance, aggressive racing geometry, stiff frames without much compliance, etc.

Looks pretty close to the stock build of that model year. I see no reason to suspect it’s fake. 2012-2014 I believe.

Also, Spesh sold out….the Crux was originally engineered as a cyclocross bike. The marketing team has since taken over their bike design and turned it into a generic gravgrav bike.
