  1. Wouldn’t run chunkies. I get the style and the feel on skates (and the look) but the extra shit and width can make proper foot placement on pedals and pegs a problem. You don’t have the same kind of room you do on a skateboard. THAT BEING SAID- vans knu school like you’ve already got are going to be about the best there is if you’re insisting on doing it. Also look into the etnies screw vulc and the vans Rowley XLT.

I haven’t bought DCs since they dropped their bmx program in 2013. Before that I had so much DC shit you’d think I drove rally for them, lol.

I used to always wear Muska’s shoes, and he had a collaboration with ES recently. Certainly chunky. I can’t speak for the new ones but back in the day they had great grip. I think retail price is $150 but they’re pretty easy to find for less.

I’ve heard great things about SCG, but, not what I’d call chunky.

At this point I pretty much just ride Nike SBs or AF1s. They last forever.

  3. I bought 2 pairs of the vans upland. separation from sole in less than 4 months, customer service is no help either, never had these issues with vans before, but makes me hesitant to buy vans again…

My favorites are the Eś OG Accels. I don’t like the new Accels because they went slim, but the OG model is just as chunky as it’s ever been. They still release them occasionally for reasonable prices.

Back in the day, I loved my chunky Loteks.
