  1. Loads of great tips there, a couple I do in extreme cold is assos balaclava and their ultra thin gloves that fit under normal winter gloves…both allow me to ride in sub zero temps for hours

  2. I love a balaclava in the UK. Got a gripgrab one works a treat.

I fucking hate the cold (summer baby), so my aim is to have as little skin open to the wind as possible. Being able to cover my full face as well as the back of my head/neck its perfect.

Great tips all round, think I need to upgrade my base layer!

  3. Gloves for the really cold days are a nightmare. Trying to get the balance between thickness that will keep your hands warm & being too thick that you have to stop every 5 minutes just to get something out of your pocket is nigh on impossible.

  4. 👍Good stuff & the comments section provides more useful info. Husband struggles to keep his hands warm even in lobster claws – was recommended DHB Deep Winter gloves by a domestic racer friend but they are no longer available – anyone know of any similar options?

  5. Always learning and picked up one nugget here, used it at weekend and gave improved results. I would add, that I use a belgian cap – I have three different ones – stolen goat – coldest days, castelli cold, castlli winstopper for cold windy days
