  1. This is oldschool quality! the attention to details and care for the customer shows through and through, and replacing those screws even when not needed proves it. Doing things they way they are meant!

  2. So you used copper antisieze (which isn't even the right antisieze to use anywhere on a bike) on the crank bolts where you should have used threadlocker and you used grease between the chainrings where you should have used silver antisieze? The front der is also way too high and will 100% throw the chain. You're the reason I do all my own work.

  3. Hi Lee, fantastic work as always. Just a quick question, I'm rebuilding a Giant mountain bike and it's got Tektro M285 hydraulic brakes and the brake levers are not in great condition but I have some Shimano hydraulic brake levers in my parts bin. Can I mix Shimano levers with Tektro callipers?

  4. I’m surprised how enjoyable I find watching these videos. A thorough and professional job but I wonder if the cost of the work exceeds the value of the bike.

  5. I don’t recall seeing you grease a seat post to stop it seizing in the frame. I always do that as part of servicing my own bikes. Is there a reason that this is not part of a Bikespeeds service?

  6. Would love to know what the total bill for the customer was. We often have bikes that require this level of service and repair, but the cost of components plus service costs make the customer decisions tricky

  7. I have bit older Tiagra 4500 drive system still in perfect condition. It's great, specially that compact shape of rear derailleur with short cage. It is old Ultegra compatible. As for the ride – so easy to setup and use. No chain rubbing, no noise. Most important – parts cheap as dirt. Only drawback is the weight, compared to modern ones.

  8. Another cracking video, i too would have changed the stem/handlebar bolts to prevent eye sore rust. I've changed all my bikes to titanium (where i needed too) for that very reason.

The one thing i noticed was that the saddle and handle bars where set at rather odd angles; would you have given advice to the bikes owner to correct the set ups?

Great stuff guys and keep up the efforts.👍👍👍

  9. Excellent attention to detail: the customer should be well happy. Like you, I mourn the disappearance of silver and polished alloy components – I remember with some awe opening the old Campagnolo boxes with their jewel-like contents! Sadly, no more . . .

  10. Hey all. Liking all the comments. Just a bit of Info about my bike. Its an imported Carbon Frame Carrera Veleno. Cost me almost £2k new and yes, its worth every penny on the rebuild,, thanks to the guys. I use it almost daily for commuting hence the wear and tear. Lesson learnt in future, in taking more care with the bike as you dont see many of these in the uk.🚴🇬🇧 Happy cycling.

  11.
