  1. my local trails shut down with even a small amount of rain. Very sandy soil here so things drain quickly, but expect to not ride for 1-2 days after a rain.

  2. Great advice. UK is like in Norway, can ride anywhere, even in the bad conditions.
Bu Tues common sense should be used, so if trails are mud bath I sink into I wouldn't ride it. It can happen, but forest trails in tree cover usually get repaired by the forest, but they also stay muddy longer as they are in the shade more. But it's no fun riding on trials you have to walk in mud that glues you to the ground. Making it hard work out to roll the bike and walk in. So I avoid those trails.
Some areas get bad, but some forest areas repair it self, so in this means I could ride without a care, some areas don't. Sometimes just the rains can cause damage erosion, like exposed ski trail. One local to me had ankle deep deeper ruts, it was just dirt, but had to be rebuilt, but that was a super steep trail too. Jus tneoigh to be able to climb it. But the gravel path held up well for years. But on another spot it didn't so ruts appeared 2 years ago. Frozen ground melts,he's Y rain and it damages trails.

  3. In the United States it depends on where you live. On the northwest coast they get a lot of rain. Most other parts itโ€™s more sunny days than rainy days.

  4. Here in Montana, bikes do next to no damage compared to horses. Luckily we have trails few horses ever see. Also we aren't allowed to ride in wilderness areas but horses can. Go figure.

  5. I ride natural trails and the only things that keeps trails usable for everybody is going out when itโ€™s soft and muddy, if I couldnโ€™t ride when itโ€™s wet and muddy I would be able to ride for about 2 weeks a year!

  6. Question, not to sound like a snobby American, but does it actually rain that often? Just a literal question, I feel like every time I watch the pros in the UK ride bike parks itโ€™s either raining or just rained
