It’s more than that. I have to pay £30 for my Sky subscription, so for me it’s £61 per month. I’ve been a devoted cycling fan for the last 40 years, now I simply can’t afford to watch a sport I love. 😢
I’m not buying it and I hope cyclists in Éire and Britain do the same, even if it was half price I still wouldn’t pay it. I’ll leave it to the fools and their money, who are always.easily parted.
Also highlights just how good GCN+ was! 😢
with my BT Broadband upgrade recently the sales person threw in the TNT and Eurosport channels for free! for a 2 year deal. As I have been such a loyal customer. But I also have a VPN so I can watch EU channels for the cost of the VPN (Sporza and NOS)
Is that the only event they are showing?
Invest in a VPN, and maybe a unique IP (if geo-restrictions are aggressive) and spoof your location to watch for free from another country.
RedBull should get in on the cycling stream.
I won't give in to being gouged
We cancelled the TV licence and viewing package. I'll catch snippets here and there if possible on YouTube. Refuse to feed the greed. More time on the bike 😂.
Cycling is a niche sport, and I think we forget this in our love of it. GCN, who waaaay undersold themselves, was too good to be true, and that perhaps should not be the benchmark. When Jumbo Visma, at the absolute top of their game, restructured, that tells you that their is bloat in the economics of cycling. It all comes down to the almighty dollar. The center cannot hold.

It seems cycling coverage has come full cycle. In the 90's and early 00's I lived where there was no decent coverage so became an expert at pirating. Then things got better and better until GCN gave everyone who had a VPN world class coverage. Sadly that was pulled but said VPN allowed us to watch Eurosport for a pittance. Now that the fee is getting too much it won't be long before the pirate streams are back. And I'll support them out of principle.
I'm definitely not paying £31 and be forced to listen to that moron Adam Blythe.
