  1. Do you ride outside no matter the conditions, or do you avoid the rain like Alex? ๐Ÿ‘€ And what do you think about riding indoors? ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚

  2. Based in the same area as GCN and its safe to say I'm definitely a fair weather rider at least outside of the summer. I live in a flat and its extremely laborious to clean a bike after riding in bad weather and that's primarily why I only ride in the dry + indoors.

  3. Riding in the rain sucks, and its dangerous, and I hate it. I came up with an ingenuous solution to address the issue. I moved to Mallorca 21 years ago and so far it seems to be working out fine.

  4. Being outdoors is a huge part of what makes the cycling fun for me. I envy people who can score countless miles while looking at the screen, but it's the kind of thing that could make me fall out of love with cycling altogether.

  5. I fully agree if you are cycling for training and pleasure. I live in Sweden and we have less raining. With good equipment we can ride in all seasons. Per Neander. Retired

  6. I won't start in the rain, if it's really bad I'll go for a long run instead. I usually plan my cycling around the weather, I live in the South East where it does rain a lot but not as much as other regions in the UK. I don't mind the cold or drizzle but heavy rain is just dangerous here in the UK especially with all the hidden potholes and irate drivers! I've tried indoor trainers in the past and it doesn't do it for me, I like fresh air and being outdoors. I have noticed some folk staying on Zwift all year round, I think it becomes addictive for some people, this virtual racing.

  7. Living in Seattle, rain is just part of the deal! Thatโ€™s why I love indoor cyclingโ€”I can throw open the garage door, enjoy the fresh air, and still feel connected to the outside. Plus, with my garage stereo setup, I get to pair my rides with my favorite music. Best of both worlds!

  8. Don't mind rain but don't like keeping a dirty bike in the shed afterwards and hate the hassle of washing the bike.

Problem is when it's dry where I live, always seems to have been raining when I get near Watford, so scuppered either way!

  9. This is a cracking video Alex. You do sneak under the radar as one of the best presenters on GCN. The message that you can get fast and fit by simply enjoying riding your bike lots, you'll have to push really hard but that doesnt mean being miserable is such a good one. Not a middle ground you often see represented between the "slow cycling, why would you even want to be fast?!" content on one side and the "flog yourself with discipline and structure and misery to be fast!" Content on the other. Thanks for a great video.
