The 11th day of my solo motorcycle off-road adventure across the Balkans continued from the city of Shengjin, Albania. As the previous day ended up quite tough, 9 hours in scorching temperatures, I decided to take it a bit easier today! Yesterday I had met some bicycle riders from Slovakia and they highly recommended to check out the city of Ohrid in North Macedonia. So that felt like a good plan for today! And it would also be the 4th new country for me on this trip!
Made a trail there along smaller roads through Albania. Albania continued to stun me with its sceneries. This is also a country where I have to return some day to explore more! The roads however were in the worst condition so far. Lots of potholes, cracks and bumps. Of course easy with the KTM 790 Adventure R, but with regular road bike wouldn’t be maybe so enjoyable.
Once entering the North Macedonia, I followed the Trans Euro Trail towards Ohrid. It was all paved, but beautiful smaller road. In the end rode it roughly 40-50 km before reaching the city. Spent the rest of the day exploring the it and enjoying a perfect dinner. Ohrid was definitely worth the visit! Really nice atmosphere, with some ancient sights as well!
Unfortunately there is no footage from the city, as my phone which I used to film it completely broke down before I managed to get the videos out. But trust me, Ohrid is well worth a visit! 🙂

Quite much paved roads. But the weather has been sunny the whole trip 🎉
