  1. Great topic, great show. I would sooner use a light rope instead of a bungee cord or rubber inner tubs. I would be to scared to have some thing tide to may bike that is stretch out and ready to retracted when it can. It might be a little safer if you had tide something in the middle to weigh it down a bit. Maybe a light jacket or some thing. To pull it downward if it in hooked or broke on either end. It is a trick that is used when pulling. Much bigger things when using a chain or tow straps.

  2. I actually tried the Tannus and yes it was a nightmare installing tire to wheel, although I did fine a video on youtube with a brilliant idea that works like a charm, before installing the wheel put the tire in a laundry clothes dryer with the heat on for 3-5 minutes and trust me the tire will go on nice and easy!

  3. Surprisingly I'm a fan on the evoc soft bag, the weight is the main draw. But like you said, it goes well until it doesn't. Hopefully I don't ever experience that

  4. My son cycled across America on a mountain bike with a "Bob" brand 🔥 single wheel trailer. It attached to lugs on the ends of an extra length QR skewer.
He had no problems with it.

  5. For over two years on DCs crappy, glass and pothole infused streets, I rode Gatorskin Hardshells because everything else gave me pinch flats. Worse yet, I pumped them up to 100 PSI. I'm honestly surprised I still have all my teeth from clinching my jaw due to the ride, lol

  6. Hard cases are for those who has unlimited storage space at home. That is not available for everyone. Soft bags can be folded and stored more easily. I've been using Evoc bike bag pro for around 15 years. I travel a lot, the bag has been through all types of mistreatment, but the bike was never damaged. Either the guy has packed his bike somehow wrong or the luggage handlers were on a mission to crash his bike.

  7. Maybe it takes 50 years of riding experience yo know that solid tires will never work. One the other hand, I was quite satisfied with Speedplay Zero pedals and a Fizik Arione saddle. Until I found I rode better with something else.

  8. I had speed plays on first bike. Only issue I had with them was confusing myself installing them to my shoes. Swapped to SPD-SL. My worst purchase was a gravel bike. For me, it's a slow road bike. I don't like gravel, if I'm off-road I rather a full suspension mountain bike. My second worst purchase has been Garmin RS-200 pedals. I bought a bike that had them, pulled them off and sold that bike, essentially getting the pedals for about $300. They are great but for me, they're dumb. It's just a number on my head unit that means little to nothing to me. I do gamins training programs with them and I still feel like they're useless.

  9. Francis, I think the wall mounted bike stands could be switched upside down. Let me know if you try it, I almost got myself some of those. Cheers mate and thanks for the good video!

  10. We recently did Tannus solid tires at my shop. The customer brought them in. We hated them so much that we decided to never install them again. Also, feel very dangerous.

  11. I also had 1 wheel trailer experience with Tout Terrain. The mule, trying to go downhill on the Grimsel and Nufenenpass was very instable. The trailer was very expensive and now sits in my cellar.

  12. I've ridden at least 50 of the best saddles ever made, the 143mm Bucklos copy of the 3D Power Mirror with CroMoly rails and the smooth top at 3:04 in the video is one of the best saddles I've ever used in my life, it's perfect. The carbon rail ones are a bit iffy, but nothing wrong with the steel rail versions. Gatorskins and Hardshells are the best tires available for brakeless fixed gear riding. They have the worst grip of any tire on the market and skid like no other, loads of fun. Fitted to a proper road bike, it's a terrible choice though, I agree.

  13. about a decade ago, bought Rapha core bib shorts. a few rides in, I'm just flashing my butt crack to whoever is behind me. Friends don't let friends wear see through bibs.

    Last purchase from Rapha ever.

  14. I've got the Specialized Romin EVO Pro Mirror saddle on my main bike. Out of curiosity I bought a "Ryet" from AE for another bike. They look extremely similar, the cushioning zones are quite similar, too. The only real difference is the saddle shell: The Specialized one is more flexible, thus somewhat more comfortable. The build quality of the Ryet is really good, though.

  15. For flying with a bike, I now use a B&W bike sack, which is an unpadded soft bag. Then I grab a carboard box from the bike shop for free, line the insides of the bag with it cut to size. I take a steel bike and sandwich the frame and everything else in between the wheels which I put in padded wheel bags. This is super light and sturdy enough to fly with. Once at the destination I can now downsize of the bag by collapsing the cardboard and taking the wheel bags out. Works a treat if you have to cram stuff in a smaller rental car at the destination.

  16. Tubeless puncture repair: use Dynaplugs. Need waterproof overshoes? Castelli has some very good ones that are easy to get on and off, really stretchy.

  17. I've used speedplays for 7 years without ANY maintenance. Bought used pedals, upgraded to titanium axles from aliexpress and bought original walkable cleats which lasted me for this whole period. They are expensive once but considering how much life you can get from those cleats they turn out to be quite cheap in comparison to other systems. Also since you don't have to change cleats you don't have to fiddle with setting them up – and if you need to change cleats you can change just the part which interacts with pedals. Dope system

  18. Velotoze – you get a thicker more substantial version with x2 pop buttons on the underside. You might only get 12 months out of them but they do what they’re supposed to a look great IMO.

  19. Great heads up! I personally love my Speedplay pedals though. Yes, expensive but not as expensive as my old Look CarbonTi Blades that only ever lasted 6 months before the bearings went. I went through 3 pairs. Got them all replaced under warranty (that was like pulling teeth) and none of them even lasted 6 months so I switched to Speedplay and I love them. Although since Wahoo bought them the latest generation can’t be self serviced. Hopefully they’ll last a good few years without needing any work on them.

  20. If you do want to drag someone – in our case my less cycling-obsessed partner – then the Tow-Whee does a fantastic job. Seems ridiculous but it's allowed us to ride together over distances that would otherwise have been prohibitive, including fully loaded camping trips, absolutely brilliant bit of kit and far cheaper & simpler than an eBike (the next step to levelling the playing field 😂).

  21. Hi there Cade Media, Decathlon's Van Rysel Road bike RC 100 v2 could be the best entry level bike in this economy. Check em out! haha, moreover, I can't wait to watch 2025's entry level bike ep!

  22. I love those Planet X hooks although mine don't fold down, they are fixed. Perhaps squash the end in a vice to add some fiction and stop the hook moving. For £1 there is nothing better on the market !

  23. 6:48 Are you kidding me, guys!
Hold the bike by the drops, saddle on your lower abdomen, turn the wheel to the right, and use the tire to adjust the hook if necessary, and then slip it into the hook. I have a similar wall mounting system and it takes 3 seconds in the worst case scenario. Also, pro tip: stagger the heights of the hooks so you can store the bikes more compactly, or just giving them more space to avoid the handlebars from hitting each other.

  24. The bike hangers. I completely agree. That is until I replaced them with the fixed version. No more faff. Although looking on their site they no longer stock them so probably need to get them from somewhere else. Well worth replacing though.

  25. 1000% had the same experience with the evoc soft bag cost me $400 to replace my smashed shifter. And also gator skins nearly slid me into the back of a car on their first ride. Changed straight back to Rubinos 😂

  26. I have been using an EVOC Bike Bag Pro with the road bike rack for the better part of ten years (or longer) and I have lost count of the number of flights I had with it. Never a single problem. Once the bulky luggage handlers even put a dozen golf baga on top of it on the cart. No worries. There has been a bit of wear and tear but I am quite sure it will serve me another ten years.
