Currently ride 100-150km a week, with a few multi-day trips planned around the country next year. Looking for my first serious road bike as a result.
Two options are a Tarmac SL7 Expert (£4,999) or Giant TCR Advanced 1 Disc (£2,250).
The TCR would need new wheels at a minimum, taking it up to £3,250ish. And it’s mechanical Ultegra vs the tarmac which is Di2.
But is it the better value for money? More comfortable? Better suited to my needs?
Worth noting both of them I would be buying through the cycle scheme (including accessories), so the Tarmac Expert would net cost £2,900 (seems cheap given original £7,500 price). Giant would come in £1000 less with wheels after savings.
