

I know about rule 4 but the steerer tube's a bit more complex as they don't really build it with "looks" in mind so you don't know what's damaged or not. It sucks but I'm almost sure this post's getting deleted so thanks for the people who can answer in time.
So after inspecting the fork on my relatively new (>1 year old) bike, I've found these voids where the fork starts to taper, as well as one on the crown race. Is this enough to start a warranty claim with Giant or are they just gonna chalk it up to it being a non-structural aesthetic imperfection or something?
I live quite far from the nearest Giant retailer (I am going as soon as I can though, but I wouldn't mind opinions beforehand) and I'm not quite sure if I could contact Giant directly as I've read somewhere that this stuff strictly goes through their retailers. Would love to know how if I could though.
