Three years into our liveaboard, continuous cruiser off grid life on our 60 ft narrowboat, and there’s still so much to see and love. Join us on board Narrowboat One Day More for a glimpse into this life, on a typical moving day, as we cruise the stunningly beautiful Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal from Kinver to the village of Swindon, doing every day jobs, from emptying toilets and filling up with water, to buying coal from the fuel boat and going through so many pretty locks.
Hello! If you are new here we are Caroline and Pete, and in 2021, after 10 years living in Texas, we sold up and moved back home to the UK to live full time aboard a 60ft narrowboat, One Day More, with our West Highland Terriers! Join us in our day to day life as we continuously cruise the canals and rivers of the UK. All of the ups, and the downs and everything in between!

That garden was great. I could spend happy hours in a place like that. I'm not much of a gardener but I really appreciate people who are. I like to plant something and never have to deal with it again so it's perennials for me. 😊 I did love that "lock gate" gate. Clever. Poppy surely didn't like Pete riding away. 🙂 ❤
You have good videos, but you should add more cooking time in them, you both look like you’re good cooks. 👍🏼👏
Fantastic calming vids, love the dogs, aww, sleepy old fella Hamish, ….as a 14 year old in 1974..I drove these things but only 52ft every Sat for Shire cruisers in West Yorks, I had to give the "grown ups" a crash course on how to do it and the locks in the 45min journey to the first lock on the Calder and Hebble, Co still survives today……….just a tip,….you are entering the locks way too fast…tickover….🤣
Fantastic again and again💓💓I often wonder how folks make the decision to be a “Narrowboater”I find it to be a fascinating idea! How d you learn everything, how do you know if it is something you can physically do!Both of you are adapt with this life style.Anyway, thank you for sharing the beauty and joy💓💓💓
Yeah… sorry Pete, that was definitely a bump. 😀
Love your vlogs, you put so much effort into them well done
Your videos always cheer me up. What lovely places you glide through, with your sweet puppies. You record and edit your stories very beautifully. Thank you!
The Stourbridge canal is well worth doing and the Delph Flight is one of our favourite flights. The southern part of the canal is the prettiest and once you get through the Delph Flight it gets a little grungy but well worth the effort.
Beautiful cruise. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely canal – love the sand stone and how narrow it is in places. I duck when watching the video going under bridges. I know – silly but old habits. Hope the family, puppies and you are doing well. Cold here, getting a 'ice storm' tonight. Thin layer of ice making the roads very slick in spots. I stocked up on groceries early today. Am all set, generator is also ready if we lose power. Take care – God Bless from the boss and myself.
Yay! PETE WAS RIGHT!!! 😂 (Sorry Pete, couldn't resist it 😊). Lovely relaxing vlog which I'm catching up on at 6am before getting up to face reality – cold, dreary day and appointment at the doctor's at 8.15am! What I wouldn't give to be back on a narrowboat without a care in the world. Stay safe and give Hamish and Poppy a hug from me. xx
Fabulous scenery and I love the black & white stills turning into colour.
(Just on a side note. Your Vlogs have stretched over 30 minutes now. That's my cutoff. Please edit tighter)
The natrual beauty is beautiful, but it is way over grown. To the point i think its dangerous.
Lovely, we have a couple tenths of an inch outside today and watching your sunny, green voyages makes me happy.
It is a beautiful stretch of canal. We thought the winter mooring regs were in force at this time, so we stayed 2 nights in Kinver. We were not the only boat to be there for at least this long. Along the permanent moorings just above Kinver lock we spotted a mooring spot labeled that it belonged to a boat called Rumah Kita – Malay for Our House. A bit of Malaysian influence on the Cut.
That short tunnel was only 6 ft longer than the boat we were on. I think there are longer bridges around. There was quite a current in there.

Thank you . We love dogs Woof Woof
Hi, I saw Pete carrying the cassette again. Did you ever consider to install a Cinderella toilet? So much comfort!
Poppy said ‘where’s my Dad going’? Lovely vlog.
great views, i love seeing hamish & poppy, my westie was called gypsy when i was little.
Forgot to mention yesterday, that sunken boat. Why don't they remove it, its an eye sore. It looks like its been there a very long time. Plus it looks like someone is living in the tent on board. You spend all the money on your boat to enjoy cruising on the canals and you have to put up with the eye sores. Some thing should be done about it.
Such a beautiful canal. Does the green muck cause a problem for your boat? When do we get to see your Son and hear his beautiful voice.
Poppy has her own boat! Her name is on it! (@ 25:55). Thanks for another relaxing video!
Lovely vlog. Found this one very soothing. Question. On days you are cruising and you have lots of locks, some you walk between. How many steps a day do you average. Hubby and I were just wondering.
Thanks for the video so nice to see this Canal again nice memories from last year 😊
Why was the first lock you went through on this vlog so green inside – water and walls? Is it just algae? It must be a lot of work keeping up with the maintenance of the canals and I think CRTC should be doing more. I’m sure they would if they had more funds. Poppy was sure enjoying the cruise. There was such beautiful scenery, coupled with the soothing music made for a very relaxing viewing. Thanks for that. Have a good weekend. See you next week.
Just wonderful. I love everything about this site/vlog. Been watching for ages so it's high time I told you 😀. It's such a peaceful beautiful watch. No one burbling on and we are allowed to hear the sound of the boat and birds and feel we are on the journey too. I've had a taste of canal life and I'm so envious. Well done both of you for living your dream. Saw your boat on the cut in Ellesmere a little while back. It's where I live.
Just started watching your videos, how lovely they are…🥰🥰
What hosepipe did you use ? Ours is crap. Would appreciate you telling me yours. By the way, you do lovely videos 😊
Hi Both & the puppy kids. Sorry I'm late to the party been busy with appointments. Has most watches 👍 for you. ❤X 🐇 x
Your photography is stunning! Thank you for taking me along!
