France’s Vincent Tupin and Switzerland’s Lisa Baumann secured victory in the elite super-G events at the second edition of the UCI Snow Bike World Championships in Châtel, Haute-Savoie, on Saturday (February 8).
The unique competition blends mountain biking with Alpine skiing, as riders equipped with studded tires race down icy slopes to claim the prestigious rainbow jersey.

Tupin led a French sweep in the men’s event, clocking 1:45.54 to edge out defending champion Pierre Thevenard by 2.39 seconds. Cedric Gracia secured third, 5.72 seconds behind Tupin.

In the women’s race, Baumann denied France a full podium sweep, taking gold with a time of 2:07.29. French riders Vicky Clavel, Zoe Fayolle, and defending champion Morgane Such finished second, third, and fourth, respectively.
“It was really slippery… but I’m happy with my run. It’s good to be here,” said a smiling Baumann, who improved on her third-place finish from last year.
The 2025 edition of the championship saw 63 riders—49 men and 14 women—from 12 countries compete in the super-G and dual slalom, marking an increase in female participation from the inaugural event.
