I ride from Lutzville to Lambert’s Bay, in the Western Cape, in South Africa.
On a very windy day, as soon as I start, a man decides to take some of his time to indicate me how to reach Lambert’s Bay via the dirt road along the railway line.
On the dirt road, I meet an old man who helps me find a shortcut to Lambert’s Bay, in addition, the man comes back to meet me a second time and offers me a fish and chips he bought for me in Lambert’s Bay. South Africa is really treating me like a king, what a country!

From what you have shown, I can't imagine any of your hosts or new friends wanting to leave. It seems they've all made such beautiful lives for themselves and their neighbors.
South Africa is great. I would personally say the older generation will always give/share even if it's the last. They just a different breed.
