An enormous waste of money. It is very rare to see any cyclists using these paths, and the narrowed roads delay emergency service vehicles
A total waste of our money. Great commentary ❤
Not a user of these bike lanes but cycle infrastructure is the absolute cheapest infrastructure councils can build, 100x cheaper than building roads for cars. If safe infrastructure is there for cyclists then there are few cars on the road, which means councils don't have to spend as much on resurfacing and adding lanes to roads. And that's not to mention the countless lives which will be inevitably saved by safer cycling infrastructure, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN… Really you should be asking whether Birmingham can afford NOT to build these bike lanes.
