No bike infrastructure unless it has zero impact on roadways. No bike lanes, no extra crossings, nothing. Nothing fucks up traffic like some fuckwit cyclists
I like the idea of having roads for bikes only away from car roads, maybe separated by a block of houses or businesses. Too many stories of hit and runs, and the cyclist always gets it.
Nobody uses the bike lanes.. its been 2 years since they put them in here. You see bicyclists less than the bloody police, who you can go months without seeing.
Certain design guidelines work, others dont. Have seen a ton af places that chop off random crap that makes cycling a ton riskier. 'We added a bicycle lane that passes from the leftmost lane to the rightmost lane over a length of 50 ft and then back leftmost after another 20 ft so that they are able to turn' type stuff.
Certain places are redesignable for bike infrastructure, others cant be.
Unless you can ride year round, they are redundant. The places that meet this criteria are very very few. They are at best expensive recreational areas, ar cost of everyone else.
Bike lanes should be dedicated and bikers should be made to pay for them, if they want them. Dont steal them from paying road users.
it's not completely true though, traffic engineers are still allowed to fully repave roads without having to narrow the wide road nor add traffic calming measures.

Yeah, that only works in areas where there is actually room, there aren't a lot of places like that.
Good message, predatory subtitles though.

We dont need separated recreational paths for bikes, we need separated lanes on the roads we already have

There is plenty of money for war and they say there is no money
It all comes down to the motorists, if your motorists are disciplined making a bike lane work is easy

Absolutely pointless.
They need to build more Bicycle 🚲 Infastructure in my city and surrounding cities!
Our German city calls itself bike friendly but takes away most rights from cyclists a few weeks later 😂 So stupid
Looking at the photos, that's a hell of a lot of petro-chemical dependant infrastructure needed to eliminate the use of petro chemicals. 😊
Bike lanes here in Toronto is trash
Bike lanes is the worst addition where I live. Nobody uses them and the traffic increased many times over
They fot it right in Boulder, CO too. Bikes ride with motor vehicles with very few incidents and have been for decades.
Ny is a mess for 30 years lmfao
"yeah"
In the UK streets are refurbished every hundred years, planners will introduce this stuff after we are all dead
Around the world we unfortunately have very different climates. Biking in low or freezing temperatures is not a good idea.
That's great. Now, mandate bicycle registration and insurance to use this infrastructure.
Lmao

In america this will not be possible because then people will not use gasoline anymore and the rich people will make less money
Deisgn guidelines exist but are not implemented in many places.

Who exactly is paying for these taxes? Since bikes, don't pay for taxes and cars do.
Either you pay tax for them to do the project or you pay for the gas you're going to use because you're not bicycling for small in-town tasks
Dirt roads are cheaper than paved roads. Do we want dirt roads or paved roads?
Great 👍
In my city in Addis people started using the bike lane to walk around and left the messed up road free
