  1. how would that compare with having a central position and riding out and back to each county (line of counties). did you try to map it like that? also using ai you can get it to map the "flattest" route avoiding main roads or whatever. just type it in ai and it will plan the route.

  2. Best of luck Scott with the training. Truly remarkable what you're aiming to do. Happy to cycle with you on Saturday 31st May for as long as I can do at 17mph! Also, happy to bring any supplies you need 😁

  3. I’d avoid Coventry ring road Scott, not one for cyclists. You’ll loose a lot of time travelling through the city tbh, it’s quite big, I grew up there, best avoided!

  4. That looks like a good route. I don't know if you got Montgomeryshire or not or if Montgomeryshire is no more (like Rutland once was)
A few roads I don't like in the daytime (A82 going from Glencoe to Glasgow) but needs must and time is of the essence! Looks like a good plan to me. 17mph for 10 hours a day should be do-able on a fast road bike but as you say, going a bit slower won't be that bad. Looks like you know that the À68 is a hilly road (and another that I prefer at night) and have allowed an extra hour to catch your plane. Clip on tri bars might help for comfort and speed if you set them up right and get used to them.
