Hey all,

A while back I posted this:

I ended up buying this bike:

https://gtbicycles.com/products/performer-21-dirtlip?variant=46623835259177

I like the color, and that's good enough for me, I'm not getting serious with this bike. But I do have a few questions:

– What is with the seat positioning y'all use with the seat pointed up? I set mine up that way and I just…don't get it. Very uncomfortable. Also how high do you keep your seat, do you ever ride sitting down (I wouldn't do this at the bike park but just riding around the neighborhood it'd be nice)?

– The stopping power on my brake is….well, I wouldn't even call it stopping power. More like slight reduction of speed power. Barely does anything compared to what my MTB's can do. My guess is it's just a cheap brake (not unexpected given the bike was $250), so what are my options? Could it be as simple as getting a new, better quality brake pad with larger surface area? Would I be best off just replacing the entire brake? Could there be something setup wrong (I had some cable slipping issues while building everything, they're currently in a good position but I'm a little wary of pulling too hard – cable slipped when I did that before)? Open to any and all suggestions.

– What can you tell me about bike fit? Coming from the MTB world obviously these bikes feel tiny, it feels like I'm riding a child's bike. How "should" it feel, how do I know my body is positioned correctly, where should the handlebars be, anything I should know related to how I fit onto the bike?
