In today’s bumper edition we finally find the ‘hidden’ church. While exploring its ancient graveyard, ghostly whispers are heard – but all is not what it may seem. We also reveal upcoming reviews, including Sena C1 communication helmets and some new autumn and winter gloves from Luxebiking.
We meet blind tandem stoker, Charles, and his wonderful tandem pilot daughter, Emily – a heart-warming story if ever there was one. We also reveal some BIG news about a new long distance route planned for Lincolnshire and a date to test ride it. And that’s all after we narrowly missed being hit by a train!

Roy my wife and I use the Sena PI intercom which will fit onto any Helmet.
Really enjoyed the video Roy, that church looked stunning.
I’d be very interested in hearing / knowing more about the St Johns Way route,,
Very good Roy thank you from myself and Emily particularly for us Home that particular day via Road through town and home as it gave Emily a lot of confidence
More freebie’s ?
Are you in competition with the Prime Minister ?!
(I take XL in gloves) 🧤
I really enjoy your vids, and I am wondering if Wendy was going to produce an album of her songs?😂
I'm very skeptic about the supernatural, worked in several places supposedly haunted, 1 hotel had a staircase from fotheringhay castle supposedly one Mary walked down on her way to her execution, people have seen her at the top of the stairs, but i worked there for just over a year never see anything, the only spiritsi ever saw was gin, vodka rum etc, also worked at Thorpe Hall hospice in Peterborough, with connections to the Civil war and supposedly haunted, but again never saw anything in about 18 months.
Nice ride thank you.
I'm non believer over religious matters or the spirit world generally. No problems if it's what you believe but for me it's all bunkum.
I do like a nice church or any religious building. I admire the work of old craftspeople, mostly done with hand tools and not well paid for their labours and often centuries old.
Now I'm a bit of a Luddite with bike technology, wary that an electrical failure might leave me stranded, but true or not, lack of basic maintenance is a bigger risk.
On one of my longer rides yesterday I had the rear derailleur fall apart. The screws through the pulley and jockey wheel must have been loose (explains the poor gear change) and parts disappeared into the grass, never to be seen again. I always carry a chain breaker so I ended up getting home single speed. Whoever said the Vendee was flat!
Having admitted to Luddite tendencies I'm very interested in the helmet review. I'm a little hard of hearing so communication with my wife can be tricky and discussions can get difficult. If the review is positive and they end up making a small size I'll consider getting two.
Charles and Emily are an inspiration to us all. No matter the difficulty, find a way to overcome it, brilliant.
Thanks for a slightly different video.
I've deliberately not mentioned singing, I don't want fame going to Wendy's head.
Great ride, the new route your planning sounds great, looking forward to seeing more, Keep singing Wendy.
Roy, I always enjoy your visits to historic or just plain old places, like the church and graveyard. But as to the supernatural, Jimmy Carr has a great joke: How can you tell if your house is haunted? It's not.
Interesting video Roy. I do not see a train, what train – Haha. Interesting to have a cycle around your location next year, looking forward to the segments as could not do the whole lot in one holiday.
Very exciting about the route! I really want to do the same in the area where I live in Japan. We have an "official" bicycle route in this area (google Pacific Cycling Road Shizuoka if you are interested — I'd post a link, but Youtube doesn't really like those…). Unfortunately it's very poorly mapped and some transitions don't make sense. It's also (and I hate to say it), mostly boring. It's entirely a flat course along the coast. I'm hoping to compile alternate routes for people who would like some scenery other than the ocean 🙂 I think cycling tourism is on the rise here and it's such an amazing place to ride if you know the secrets. I'd love to ride your route some day. My wife and I lived in the UK for 2 years and we really miss it!
Honestly that was a brilliant video. There was so much to enjoy. The church and graveyard visit was really interesting . The planned new route around Lincolnshire, well done for instigating that. Good luck with it and I wish you every success. However the segment on Charles and his daughter on the tandem, that was really special. Wow! 👏🏻
