Installing a Vorsprung Smashpot v2 in my Fox 38. I can’t tell if I need this specific part that the instructions mention called a “top cap extender” (see picture, circled in red). The kit did not have the extender included. I’m worried that it was just a mistake and it should be included. See the instructions, it basically says all forks need this except fox 36. I’m getting mixed answers on some forums. Hoping someone here has recently installed this coil conversion kit (V2 version) in a fox 38 and could tell me if I need this top cap extender or not.
I’ve already reached out to Vorsprung and they are closed for the weekend. Hoping to get an answer today so I can ride tomorrow. TIA
