I put new handlebars on my Brompton so I could fit bar ends. These things really change how riding this bike feels. It's a two speed, so not a lot of range, and riding out of saddle uphill now feels way more stable.

Flat bars give me wrist pain, but you can't fit curvy or swept back bars on a Brompton and still fold compact. So this is a nice compromise. Ergons are great, but unless you get GP3s (the ones with bar ends lol) it's not quite the same.

If you're using an M type handlebar, a bar end will typically strike the ground when you fold it. These generic ali Ti bars are about half the height. Everything folds down very neatly.
