number 3 is completely false: sometimes kart tracks are way too wide for the speed of rental karts and using all the track is not necessary to minimize lap time as you are covering way too much terrain. Sometimes it's better to do a shorter trajectory.
If you go to one of these in a group, and all the karts are the same, as well as equivalent driving skill, the person who weighs the least will have the best lap times.
Leaning out is really important because the car has no diff. In addtion, you can try shifting the seat a bit forward or backward. I feel I'm fastest with the seat a bit too forward compared to the typically recommended position because I get bit more weight to the front wheels and I get less understeering. Don't overdo it or you lose time sliding, though.
Yeah here in south africa it's real expensive to do this. I have not done carting in like 24 years. Last time I we t out I overtook all my friends and I pulled away last. I was faster then the dude that thought he was the fastest.. 😂
Great video man! thank you for those tips and i'll put that to use when I get back on track tomorrow! I was out last week, did worse with a cart that was partially to blame and did get a little disheartened. I'll practice out-in-out and the lean out technique.
Thing is, you could spend all this time and focus scraping off seconds and microseconds, and for the majority of people, what do you achieve by it? It won't be money or fame. No-one will probably know your time except for you. Otherwise, you can go, foot to the floor, overdrive it, tight in on corners, drift, etc, and your times won't be great, but you'll have had great fun😂
Ive only been karting once. Itvwas great fun and the banter after was a laugh a minute. I came 2nd and i didn't even have a driving licence at the time. I'd keep going, but the nearest track is 55 miles away

Do you use a karting sim / is there one you recommend?
Great video. Any advice on how to practice when it costs $23 for a single 12-lap race?
I did Karting for the 1st time this week and i did pretty great. My best lap on session 1 was 1,17 min but on the last round my best lap was 55.7 sec.
Me who did this online 1 time 10 years ago: Mhm… interesting

Any ideas on how to attach a go pro the a rental helmet so you can remove it easily after the session?

Reason #0, Perfect Lap Time

Also stick your tongue out to the left on right turns and right on left turns. Helps with the weight distribution.
I followed this advice and now I am getting calls from Formula 1 teams.
Its surprising how all these tips made me gain 2 seconds on my local track. Leaning is underrated. Slow in fast out gives you consistent laps
In addition to these mistakes, the biggest problem I've seen is not braking hard enough.
hey, are you the guy who is playing REALMOFTHEMADGODS? cmon be honest!
This is a fantastic video. Explained Gran Truismo in 5 minutes.
Great video!!!!!! One of the most useful I came across in 3 years karting

But what if everyone uses all these techniques
turn on the racing line in the settings and you're good to go
One of the worlds greatest kart drivers Mike Wilson leans in
How does one factor in debris and other racers denying your placement on track?
