  1. number 3 is completely false: sometimes kart tracks are way too wide for the speed of rental karts and using all the track is not necessary to minimize lap time as you are covering way too much terrain. Sometimes it's better to do a shorter trajectory.

  2. If you go to one of these in a group, and all the karts are the same, as well as equivalent driving skill, the person who weighs the least will have the best lap times.

  3. Leaning out is really important because the car has no diff. In addtion, you can try shifting the seat a bit forward or backward. I feel I'm fastest with the seat a bit too forward compared to the typically recommended position because I get bit more weight to the front wheels and I get less understeering. Don't overdo it or you lose time sliding, though.

  4. Yeah here in south africa it's real expensive to do this. I have not done carting in like 24 years. Last time I we t out I overtook all my friends and I pulled away last. I was faster then the dude that thought he was the fastest.. 😂

  5. Great video man! thank you for those tips and i'll put that to use when I get back on track tomorrow! I was out last week, did worse with a cart that was partially to blame and did get a little disheartened. I'll practice out-in-out and the lean out technique.

  6. Thing is, you could spend all this time and focus scraping off seconds and microseconds, and for the majority of people, what do you achieve by it? It won't be money or fame. No-one will probably know your time except for you.
Otherwise, you can go, foot to the floor, overdrive it, tight in on corners, drift, etc, and your times won't be great, but you'll have had great fun😂

  7. Ive only been karting once. Itvwas great fun and the banter after was a laugh a minute.
I came 2nd and i didn't even have a driving licence at the time.
I'd keep going, but the nearest track is 55 miles away
